I am so happy....Kelly Conlon's daughter, Kasey, asked what a STOOP was....
Now, after explaining it, I know it is one word that this generation will pass on or else it would have been forgotten and with it part of our growing up.....

That is so cool that Kasey never heard of the word stoop.
It reminds me of a funny Nana (Lizzie) story...
As a joke she used to say "Want to play house? , you be the door and I'll slam ya"
Such good memories
Kasey actually thought "Stoop" was short for someone stupid.
She gets it now! She equates it to her friend's Cuban grandparents who bring lawn chairs into their driveway every evening and every weekend.

The Origin of STOOP is derived from a variation of a Dutch Word, Stoep which means a rasied veranda in front of a house.
"Stoop is a North American English word and entered the American continent via South Africa, where it is used in its Dutch form stoep, and denotes a raised veranda."
